The children explored the idea that phonics rules do not always work in the way we expect. We discovered that some words are Wonder Words—words that may need to be remembered in a different way.
Through movement, music, discussion and play, the children learned that reading is not only about sounding out words. It is also about thinking, remembering, imagining and developing the confidence to keep trying.
It was wonderful to see the children joining in, sharing their ideas, moving to the StoryMagic song and bringing the story to life. Of course, Katy dressed up too!
